Marin General Hospital, a not-for-profit facility, opened in May 1952. It is the largest acute care hospital in Marin County and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. Marin General Hospital is licensed for 235 acute care beds and works in close partnership with Novato Community Hospital to provide for the health care needs of 175,000 residents of Marin County. Marin General Hospital affiliated with Sutter Health in 1996. Recent additions include a new Cardiac Cath Lab (opened in November 2006), and the installation of a new $1.6 million CT Scanner.

This is a journey-level position for a Radiological Technologist with at least two years of acute care hospital facility employment experience. The Radiological Technologist II is distinguished from the Radiological Technologist III, in that the latter has at least five years of experience.   As the Radiological Technologist I is under the supervision of a more experienced Technologist and the chief of Radiologist, so is the Rad. Tech. II.   The Radiological Technologist II typically will be certified in more than one modality in addition to Radiography. Additional modalities are typically; Fluoroscopy, C.T., Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).  The second license should be in Fluoroscopy.

 

Education:

-Formal Training in an accredited Radiological program with an Associates degree in Radiology.

-High school diploma or an equivalent G.E.D. program therein.

 

Experience:

-Minimum of two years full time experience as a paid Radiological Technologist in an acute care hospital facility.

 

License/Registration/Certification:

Required possession of valid California Certified Radiological Technologist Certificate (CRT).  Possession of certification in one additional radiological modality in addition to Radiography preferred.  Certification can be, but is not limited to CT scan, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

Possession of membership in good standing with American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) required for new hires after January 1, 1983.

Required Possession of valid Basic Life Saving certificate.
