Roxbury Comprehensive Community Center, offering quality health care to the Boston community for over 35 years is recruiting for the following position:

Family Nurse Practitioner

In this role, the Nurse Practitioner will provide primary care services to RoxComp’s patients. You will also assess, diagnose and treat episodic illnesses and manage chronic health problems of patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide primary care/or specialty services to patients across the lifespan within the scope of practice as a nurse practitioner

• Render medical care according to accepted standards of care and within scope of practice

• Collaborate with colleagues, patients in the development and continuum of care

• Assist and arrange appropriate referrals to specialty department and ancillary services

• Provide patient education on disease process, goals of care and treatment plans

• Assist with triage as needed

• Prepare for emergency and code blue situations by being familiar with the emergency cart, medications and protocols

• Participate in quarterly chart review with supervising physicians

• Prescribe medications under RoxComp’s and Massachusetts State guidelines

• Adhere to all clinic and inter-departmental policies and protocols

• Comply with record keeping requirements-legible and complete

• Maintain current knowledge of trends and changes in health care through independent study and attendance at professional conferences, especially in area of expertise

• Maintain all necessary professional credentialing

• Attend all departmental, all-staff meetings ad providers meetings as required

• Participate in evening and weekend on-call rotations

• Other related professional duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have five or more years of work experience

• Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner Program with a Master’s Degree

• Licensed nurse practitioner in the state of Massachusetts

• Certification in specialty

• Two years of RN experience
