National Jewish is seeking a Staff RN in our Adult Unit to independently plan and provide general nursing care for patients and families in the ambulatory outpatient care setting utilizing a systematic approach incorporating assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Practices in accordance with physician orders, established policies and procedures, and the values stated in the National Jewish Health and the Department of Nursing vision and mission. Provides nursing services within the scope of the RN as defined by the Colorado Board of Nursing. Assists others in developing their skills, knowledge, and abilities.
Knowledge and Skills

Incumbent must have exceptional oral and written communication skills; attention to detail and ability to multi-task; and possess strong organizational skills. Capacity to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers while maintaining confidentiality. Incumbent must be a positive, professional team player. Must be knowledgeable in the scope of practice of the Registered Nurse, Certified Nursing Assistant, and Medical Assistant. Must apply appropriate application of the nursing process, professional theory and practice. Must have the ability to independently seek out resources and work collaboratively. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, members of the healthcare team, and administration. Incumbent must possess effective computer skills and the ability to use multiple software applications. Must demonstrate the ability to perform basic life support skills in an emergency.
Education

Graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing is required. BSN is preferred.

Certification and Licensure

Current Colorado RN License and current CPR/BLS certification (ACLS or PALS if applicable for specific unit) is required. Nationally accepted specialty Certification through American Nurses Credentialing Center, Asthma Educator Society, or other Nationally accepted accrediting body is required. Certification must be relevant to nursing position held and applicable to the needs of the institution. Certification in Chemotherapy or Oncology required.

Work Experience

A minimum of two (2) years of recent and related RN experience is required. Different patient care areas may require additional experience.

National Jewish is seeking a RN- Pool in our Nursing Float Pool, focusing on Pediatrics to deliver general nursing care utilizing a systematic approach to nursing practice incorporating: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation; thus providing continuing health care to individuals, families, and communities. Assists others in developing their skills, knowledge, and abilities. Required to float between at least two units and work at least five shifts a month. This position is PRN/Pool – Hours are not guaranteed.
Knowledge and Skills

Education

Bachelor degree in Nursing or Graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing required.

Certification and Licensure

Current Colorado RN license required. CPR/BLS required. PALS preferred.

Work Experience
